9/16/17: Levi and Caley's Wedding

This past weekend, I had the privilege of seeing two of my friends get married. When people asked if I was there for the bride or the groom, I would say, "Both! I was originally a friend of the groom, but I met Caley when they were dating, and now we're friends too. It's been wonderful to know them as a couple and see their relationship blossom."

Levi has been a special part of my life for almost five years, and we attended the same church some of that time. Last summer, before he moved, he, Caley, and I were involved in a weekly church study with our friend Sophie. It was wonderful to spend so much time together, and as we got to know each other in even deeper ways, it was a blessing to see Levi and Caley's commitment to each other. The time that I spent with them then made it an even more joyous occasion to witness their marriage and celebrate with them.

We were blessed with beautiful sunshine and cool breezes for their mountain wedding, and enjoyed the venue's spacious grounds and rustic buildings. The ceremony was beautiful, and I loved its emphasis on marriage as a picture of Christ's love for the church. I have already seen relentless love and commitment in Levi and Caley's relationship, and I am confident that they will continue to live out the gospel together, practicing sacrifice, love, and forgiveness as they walk through life side by side.
 There's the groom!
When we made eye contact, he came over and gave me a hug. It made me so happy.
Sophie took this photo of the wedding ceremony.
The building for the reception was across the lawn.

I love this picture of me and Sophie.
In line for food, Sophie spotted this spider and his web on the exit sign. She told me, "I have a story idea for you! You should write about that spider, who watches everyone's weddings. He's a hopeless romantic."
 She's so beautiful.
Below is another one of Sophie's photos.
I got to talk with Caley for a little bit.

It was a beautiful day, and I made such wonderful memories. I'm so happy for the newly married couple, and deeply grateful for the opportunity to share this glorious occasion with people I love.
